If you are coming to work in the NHS in the UK your rates of pay will be subject to a new system, Agenda for Change (AfC). This is a national undertaking that means the old Whitley payscale that used to apply to all healthcare disciplines and grades has being phased out and replaced by another that aims to standardise rates of pay throughout the NHS and ensure that people are being paid equal wages for the same jobs. There has been a huge amount of work done on job evaluation and matching like for like across the whole of the National Health Service since its inception late in 2004 and the aim is for 100% assimilation by 30 September 2005.
